Quarantine Haiku, Summer 2020

Last summer I found myself scratching down haikus late at night before bed. It was a fun way to play with words instead of pictures, something I’ve found myself wanting more of lately. Haikus have an intrinsic punchline opportunity built-in, so they also made for good moments of levity in an otherwise a long, monotonous, and difficult period. Most are frustrated meditations on quarantine life, Zoom overload, or try capture some small moment from my day. Usually about the cat or how deathly boring everything felt.
