The Manual began as a Kickstarter project in early 2011. Successful funding made it possible to publish a first issue exclusively in print, followed by Issue 2 and Issue 3 in 2012. Each features six unique, talented writers who contribute a substantial, thought-provoking essay on a deeply personal lesson. Each essay is enhanced by a contributing illustrator, and the book features an additional artwork at its center.
