In 2018 Dutch artist Sigrid Calon created Triangular Grid, a light, colour, and time-based installation work for The Kalverpassage, a mini-mall in Amsterdam. Calon’s piece is designed to produce a different composition every minute of every day for ten years, a feat of immense ingenuity that necessitated the artist’s collaboration with technological and corporate partners in order to realize the project. Calon’s book takes the reader through the conceptual journey that culminated in Triangular Grid, a work representative of the artist’s interest in embroidery, weaving, and textile arts, as well as her self-described idiom, that of “exploded view compositions featuring vibrant color contrasts.”
