Why Haven't We Seen the Whole World Connected Yet?
This poster was the continuation of a related series of designs launched during Earth Day in 2016 which began with a 6-color screenprint of the Earth. That first print was a nod to Whole Earth Catalog, the first photo of the earth from ATS-3, and additionally the famous Blue Marble photo taken on December 7, 1972 by the Apollo 17 crew on their way to the Moon.

In this particular case though, the nod is more clearly towards Stewart Brand and his campaign asking “Why haven’t we seen a photograph of the whole Earth yet?” Here though, the nodes connect to form a representation of Pangaea as a metaphor for everyone on the planet together.
